- Help! Can't Unzip a file! There is an explanation, and I need to pick
- some brains over this one.
-
- I 'surf' on a CBM 128...standard model, not upgraded, no hard drive, just
- a 1571 floppy; have a model 1670 Commodore modem/1200 (which cost $9.95
- from Software Support last year 1-800-356-1179); Common Sense software;
- and IBM color monitor cuz that is the only way I could get it to do the
- VT100 terminal emulation to get on-line with my local internet provider.
- No the monitor does not work with other stuff, just switch to regular
- monitor for regular word processing etc. Anyway, I was determined to get
- on line and did.
-
- Besides wallowing in great new stuff, I am doing genealogy research for
- my Mom and Mom in law. The person at Gedcom sent me a file Zipped. I
- saved it somewhere at my net connection (obviously my files store there,
- and I try to download regularly so they don't send me nasty notes!!), and
- now the difficulty is how to UN-ZIP it. My e-mail program on Magick.Net
- is PINE 3.89 from U of W. this query is going out with the help of
- PICO. So I do not have windows, or little in and out baskets, and shucks
- I am new at this...so, HELP! Does anyone know how, or even if I can
- unzip a file? Maybe cannot be done with what I have, and my ability level.
